Treneglos
The Southern Railway’s ‘Withered Arm’ provided three members of Stafford Railway Circle with the inspiration for Treneglos, which features a range of structures based on London and South Western Railway (LSWR) designs. The layout, which is featured in the April 2005 issue of Trains On-line, is 28 feet long and is operated as a North Cornwall station in the summer season between 1961 and 1964.

Bulleid Light Pacifics were often to be found on express services in North Devon and Cornwall. Here 34070 ‘Manston’ prepares to leave Treneglos—note the vegetation!

A view across goods yard and approach to the station reveals many small details such as ground signals that add greatly to the overall impact of the scenery on this impressive layout.

The concrete viaduct makes an interesting feature for the modeller, though the LSWR opted for an embankment at this point where the line crosses a tributary of the River Ottery as the ground was said to be unsuitable for the structure. Again note the impressive vegetation.
