Branchline sets new standard...

BACHMANN’S all new BR Standard Class 4MT 4-6-0 looks set to arrive in September. It replaces the former Mainline designed model first produced in the 1970s,  The models will feature the highest level of livery detail on any Bachmann model, together with the standard digital interface and smooth drive mechanism.

Also expected soon are the firm’s brand new VDA Vans in four liveries, BDA bolster wagons (three versions) and the first examples of the LNWR designed G2A 0-8-0 ‘Super Ds’, LMS 9301 without tender back cab and BR 49395 with tender back cab. A DCC fitted version, BR 49094, will also be available.

Spine wagons on schedule

DAPOL has confirmed that its 00 spine wagons should be available for sale in September as planned. The wagons will be produced in both GBRF and Freightliner liveries. Each wagon will come with two internal coupling bars, two moulded screw link couplings, two air pipes and a plastic sprue with container mounting spigots.

Special commissions...

RECENT special commissions from Dapol include a pair of five-plank coal wagons in the livery of George Bryant, Bridgwater, for Burnham and District MRC and a five-plank wagon, R J Broughton, coal merchant, for the Nene Valley Railway, Peterborough.

Ex-Lima favourite returns

HORNBY has reintroduced the former Lima GWR express parcels railcar to the catalogue. It is powered by Hornby’s five-pole motor, has an eight-pin DCC socket and is equipped with traction tyres to enable it to haul a trailing load.

New 00 wagons from Dapol

THE first of Dapol’s new generation 00 scale wagons, rectangular tanks and grampus wagons, have reached the shops. Both feature turned metal buffers, NEM coupling pockets and self centring coupling arms.
