Kyleport

Built to 00-gauge by members of Kyle MRC, this is a four or six track continuous run layout on two levels. Trains can be independently run on the upper or lower levels, or can transfer between the two—20 trains can be found on it at any given time providing considerable variety for the viewing public.

Adding a nostalgic look to the layout is Class 37 698 decked out in the relatively short-lived Load Haul livery, once popular with enthusiasts. The subtly weathered and detailed loco is hauling a rake of ‘Presflo’ wagons.

The harbour area (above) is independent of the continuous run portion of the layout and consists of a goods yard and MPD. A Class 31 with its train of loaded scrap wagons is seen leaving the area.

Train ferries form a key part of the operation of Kyleport and in this view a P&O vessel is seen complete with loaded timber wagons awaiting the attention of the Port authorities.
