Grimley

Normanton and Pontefract Modellers’ Club’s 22 ft by 10 ft 00-gauge modern image layout Grimley is based on a North of England location and features main line running on Peco code 75 track. Buildings are all scratch built using a wood base covered in Plastikard. The back scene was painted on board using acrylics to help blend it into the landscape.

A general view across the small exchange yard reveals a pair of 08 shunters and a number of Class 37 locomotives.

Attention to detail, such as in the view above, helps give this tail-chaser layout a degree of character sometimes lacking on big modern image layouts. A variety of wagons is evident.

Double heading is the order of the day for this freight train as it approaches the exchange sidings on Grimley. Most of the motive power on the layout is of the ‘ready to run’ variety.
