Glendevon
Edinburgh and Lothians MRC’s 00-gauge Glendevon is a purely fictitious North British Railway terminus layout purporting to serve a small rural community. The scratch-built buildings are prototype inspired, following NBR practice and being based on those found in east central Scotland.
A general view of the station and goods yard, with elderly J36 number 65345 having just arrived on a goods train. Judging by the number of passengers on the platform, this must have been one of the busier branch lines operated by the erstwhile Scottish Region of British Rail.
The narrow street on the station approach must have caused problems for road deliveries, but the view above rewards close observation as it boasts many cameo scenes and some fine model buildings.
Resplendent in later BR green livery D4192 awaits its next turn of duty in the yard. Rolling stock on the layout is generally kit built along with some improved and detailed ready to run items. Note the fine junction signal.
