Copse Crossing
Bingham Model Railway Club’s layout Copse Crossing has been seen at many exhibitions in the Midlands, the North of England and Scotland since 1997. It is a large layout and offers viewers the chance to go ‘spotting’ as trains rush past as they would have done on the main line. Copse Crossing has few buildings and consequently its operators are able to vary the time periods in which it is run — 1920s LNER, 1940s LMS, BR steam and green diesels, etc.

The 1990s is the period seen above as a Class 60 in Load Haul livery passes the standard Midland signal box on the ‘slow’ line.

Progress grinds to a halt for the Class 60 as it is held at signals.

A Virgin liveried Class 47 makes its way on 4M60, the Southampton to Lawley Street, Birmingham Freightliner train.
